The North American British Music Studies Association (NABMSA) awards the Diana McVeagh Prize for Best Critical Edition of British Music once every four years.
Eligibility
Any critical edition of music published between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2023, with a focus on British music is eligible for consideration for the prize. Critical apparatus should be available in English. Anyone may submit a nomination, including self-nominations.
Submissions
Nominations of the edition to be considered must be submitted by June 15, 2024, to the committee chair, Roberta Marvin (roberta-marvin@uiowa.edu) and the Secretary of NABMSA, Deborah Heckert (deborah.heckert@stonybrook.
At least one digital copy (PDF) of the nominated work (or other means of access to the complete work), including all critical apparatus, must be sent directly from the publisher and received by the Committee by the submission deadline to ensure consideration.
Award Announcement
The winner of the Prize (which will include a $200 honorarium) will be announced at the annual online NABMSA Business Meeting in applicable years. The committee reserves the right not to give an award in a cycle should suitable nominations not be made.
